Amsterdam

Yes, it's been forever, sorry 'bout that, been busy and blah, blah blah...

One time, forever ago, we spent about 20 hours in Amsterdam. Here are some pics...

The quaint little street of our hotel
The Bilderberg Jan Luyken Hotel...home to the best bacon we have ever tasted
Hotel doorman
Decided to take a canal tour
Loved the gorgeous Dutch houses
Lots of black brick
Interesting architecture More black brick

They're all about cycling in Amsterdam - bicycle parking garageWalked around in Dam Square
Jed tells me not to smile for pictures sometimes
Together in Dam SquareHappened upon this delightful bakery Took awhile to make our selections
We both opted for sugary, waffley goodness
Mmmmm
Explored a bit in the evening (the light rings are bicycle wheels)
Sat and people watched
On the plane home too soon We couldn't take photos at the Van Gogh Museum or the Anne Frank House, but both of those were major highlights of our trip.

Another MAJOR highlight was enjoying the incredible Stroopwafels. If you know where to find them in NYC, PLEASE tell me. I am in love with them...thin, crisp waffles glued together with a delicious honey/syrup-like layer.

They look like this...
We loved Amsterdam and would definitely go back for another 20 hours any day!

I think they sell them at Trader Joes in the cookie section about the freezer stuff. I hope they're the same thing...

Ooh. You just have to find a Dutch Bakery for those babies. I can tell you where to get them in Montana and Ann Arbor, but not NYC. I've seen them at Whole Foods too.

Kate look how pretty you are! I am not jealous at all about your trip, I went to somewhere fun too like, Gunnison, UT. That is probably the farthest I have been in a while. Don't be jealous

Wow, it looks like you two had a wonderful time there. I'm happy you have gotten to experience some other countries.

Enjoyed our time in Utah together.

Love, Mom

I LOVE stroopwaffles. When my Mom and I were there we brought back a bunch of them to have on hand...too bad they didn't last long cause we downed them too fast! :)
