The marathon course will take me through all 5 of NYC's boroughs (Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx & Manhattan - all connected by bridges). So the GW Bridge gave me some great practice this weekend.
The view of the Hudson River & Manhattan from the GW Bridge is pretty breathtaking. Of course this photo doesn't do it justice.
We enjoyed running in new territory & were happy to have a shorter distance to cover on this run. And with just a couple wrong turns, our little plan worked out pretty swimmingly. We made it safe & sound (not to mention sweaty & smelly) to the rental car agency.
(Don't worry, we drove back to Manhattan & showered before the reception)
To gear up for next week's long run, I'm watching this video for inspiration...
